Off Beat Adventure Drives is the brainchild of husband-wife duo Ravi Nayar and Carmen Miranda. Passionate about road trips and the great outdoors, the couple has over-landed in the true sense of the word, around the world and around the country. This, combined with their extensive hospitality and event management experience, makes them the perfect partners for your next luxury road adventure, along with the added bonus of getting to have them escort you along with their dedicated team!
Ravi and Carmen work with this dedicated team to put together their bespoke road experiences. The team consists of a bunch of passionate travel buffs who work hard to ensure that your off beat adventures are memorable and snag free!
Ravi Nayar
Ravi completed his hotel management degree from the Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition, Goa, in 1987. He was a part of the hotel industry for more than a decade – working at prestigious hotel chains such as The Leela, Southern Pacific Hotels, The Park and The Oberoi’s amongst others.
In 1998, Ravi founded Mardi Gras Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. – an event management company handling general events but with a specialized focus on providing entertainment and entertainment consultancy for hotels and restaurants. Ravi was one of the pioneers in the concept of providing specialized entertainment in hotels in the country. Today, Mardi Gras Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. is the largest and the oldest company in this field across the country.
Always a nomad at heart, Ravi seized every opportunity he could to explore the country by road. Having explored the less travelled routes and destinations of the country and the world, he has always wanted to share his passion of the outdoors and the road with like minded travellers. He has also been involved in various motorsports and off-roading activities in different capacities. A strong advocate of the “do what you love and you’ll never work a day” philosophy, Ravi decided to convert his passion for travel and adventure into a business venture in 2014. This led to the inception of Off Beat Adventure Drives Pvt. Ltd. His core expertise of food & beverage in luxury hotels also adds immense value to the luxury, hospitality and gourmet angle to all the expeditions and adventures on the road and off it.
Carmen Miranda
After graduating in psychology from the University of Mumbai, Carmen went on to study hotel management at Goa’s Institute of Hotel Management, Catering Technology & Applied Nutrition.
Carmen was employed in the service industry for over 14 years. During this time, she worked with some of India’s top fashion designers and with leading airline Jet Airways. Carmen brings her experience of working with premium brands to her own business, ensuring that every Off Beat Adventure Drives journey is the last word in comfort and luxury.
Carmen shares Ravi’s passion for road adventures, and has accompanied him on numerous expeditions across the world and the country. An avid photographer, she has a knack for capturing the best moments on every Off Beat Adventure Drives tour.
